Evangeline Maid Bakery turned 100 this year, and they are celebrating with Downtown Alive! and Wayne Toups. On Friday, November 1st, Downtown Alive! will throw a birthday party for Lafayette’s beloved bakery, Evangeline Maid. The Centennial Celebration concert at Parc International will feature music by Wayne Toups & Zydecajun.
Downtown Alive! is a free, outdoor concert that takes place in Downtown Lafayette on Friday nights during the Spring and Fall seasons. The Fall 2019 seson is presented by Evangeline Maid as part of their celebration of 100 years of bread making tradition in Acadiana. The 87,000 square foot bakery at Simcoe and St. Antoine Streets in Lafayette employs over 200 people and bakes 1.2 million pounds of bread per WEEK.
The party starts at 5:00 PM on Friday, November 1st with the DTA! Happiest Hour, featuring a specialty cocktail alongside new offerings like White Claw Hard Seltzer, Cut Water Spirits, and a new selection of wines and beers at the DTA! bar and beer trucks. There will be fun for the whole family, with kids activities provided by the Children’s Museum of Acadiana, Deuxieme Vie Creative, and MLR Magic.
