Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program presented by the NEA and the Poetry Foundation which encourages the study of great poetry by offering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition to high schools across the country. This program helps students master public speaking skills and builds self-confidence, while also learning more about both classic and contemporary poetry.
The Acadiana regional competition will take place at the Acadiana Center for the Arts, where 9 students from 3 area high schools will compete to go on to the state competition.
