This Downtown Lafayette Unlimited Lunch & Learn, hosted by Jones Walker LLP, will be an update from Interim LUS Director, Jeffery Stewart on the sewage capacity project progress, LED lighting progress, and other things that have happened throughout the year.
This is a continuation of a conversation on the topic of utilities infrastructure in the Downtown district that started at DLU’s first ever Lunch & Learn this past February with LUS.
In February, Stewart spoke at length about the city-owned utility service’s efforts to increase sewage capacity for Downtown and the surrounding areas. At the event, he announced plans to invest around $7 million to create a new lift station capable of handling 2,000 additional residential units in the area.
Downtown has seen growing interest in residential development this year. There are two new residential projects under construction and another in due diligence. As new living quarters are added to the district and demand increases, investments in utility infrastructure will be vitally important.
Attend this Lunch & Learn event to stay up-to-date on Downtown’s ongoing utility improvements, and spend time getting to know DLU’s members and other Downtown stakeholders. This event is free to attend for DLU Members. Non-member entry is $12.
