About Louis:
Louis J. Perret was elected Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court on November 20, 1999. He was elected in June 2000 by his fellow Clerks to serve as State Director for Louisiana to IACREOT (International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials, and Treasurers). In March of 2001, Perret was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association. In March 2003, he was re-elected to the Board of Directors for another two-year term.
Prior to his election as Clerk of Court, Perret served as District Director of the 7th Congressional District for Congressmen Jimmy Hayes and Chris John. (1986-1999)
Perret served as co-chair of the Lafayette Bush/Cheney campaign in 2000. He served as an alternate delegate for George W. Bush at the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia. In January 2000, Perret was elected to a four-year term on the Republican State Central Committee. Perret worked as GOTV (Get Out the Vote) statewide chairman for Governor Mike Foster (1995) and Communications Director for Governor Foster’s Transition Team (1995).
