Downtown Lafayette Unlimited (DLU), the private, non-profit organization that works hand-in-hand with the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), has hired a Marketing and Communications Manager to assist with event planning and execution, content creation, and marketing of the district.

“Momentum was a common theme in Downtown Lafayette throughout 2019 that has continued into 2020 despite a global pandemic,” said Maureen Dugas Foster, director of DLU. “We are so happy to have Cali on board; she will bring a fresh and exciting new direction to our marketing and communication efforts and continue telling Downtown’s story, capitalizing on the opportunities that are realized on a daily basis.”

In her previous roles as a Content Specialist at BBR Creative and freelance copywriter, Cali Comeaux has handled marketing and digital strategy, social media management, brand development, corporate communications, and public relations for large and small companies. In addition to volunteering with a variety of local non-profit organizations, Cali also serves as Secretary on the Executive Board for The Acadiana Outreach Center.

Comeaux brings an energetic and inspired perspective to every moving part of a marketing journey. She looks forward to spreading the word far and wide about the many exciting opportunities Downtown Lafayette has to offer.

As Marketing and Communications Manager, Cali will be responsible for telling Downtown Lafayette’s story, managing its online presence and strategy, and cultivating member relationships. She looks forward to promoting the district as a vibrant place to live, work, and play.

“Lafayette is more than just another city; it’s the heart of culinary and cultural adventure. I look forward to the incredible opportunity of marketing Downtown Lafayette as a unique town center with a big personality that embraces everything people love about Louisiana as a whole.”

She continued, “Residents love us, previous visitors miss us, and others are learning about us. Right now, Downtown Lafayette is still a relatively well-kept secret — it’s my mission to have our district on a first-name basis with the rest of the world very soon.”
