Building a Clean and Safe Downtown: How a New “Ambassador” Program Fuels Economic Development Downtown. This event is presented by Gordon Arata.

Join us for the exciting unveiling of a new initiative to make the streets of Downtown Lafayette clean and safe. A Downtown Ambassador program, provides services, such as a full-time work crew to clean and maintain our streets and landscaping, remove graffiti, pressure wash, provide hospitality related services, and even resources for homeless folks. Downtown Lafayette gets a lot of wear and tear—between the dozens of restaurants and retailers, major employment centers, residents, and world-class cultural events and festivals. In order to capture the maximum economic impact of more than a million visitors a year, visitors must have a world-class experience. This is how we will drive investment downtown. We’ve been working with our Neighbor to Neighbor Advisory Group—which includes downtown businesses, residents, and partners—to develop this new program and we are excited to share our progress with you.

This event will take place at the ArtHouse at Acadiana Center for the Arts and is scheduled from 11:30am – 1:00pm to provide adequate time for networking and dining.
