Absolutely. Our membership is open to anyone who wants to support Downtown Lafayette—whether you are an individual, student, resident, small business, nonprofit, or larger organization. You don’t need to live or work in the Downtown cultural district to join. Our community is united by those who have grand vision for the district and understand that Downtown’s success radiates out to the larger region and state.

Yes, the DLU membership program has been streamlined and is now known as DL Membership. As our organizations have grown and evolved, we’ve simplified the membership program to make it easier to connect with Downtown Lafayette. If you're an active DLU Member, you’re now considered an active DL Member.

After signing up, you'll receive an invitation to log in to our Membership Portal through a Giveffect account, where you can manage your payments and register for volunteer opportunities. You’ll also start receiving DL Membership newsletters in your inbox with updates on exclusive Downtown Lafayette member-only events and more.

Membership level only affects how you’re prioritized in the DL Member Directory, where listings appear in order of membership level.

On the Explore Page, businesses, organizations, and entities located within the Downtown Lafayette cultural district are listed alphabetically, regardless of membership level. DL Members, however, are highlighted with a special DL Member Badge on the Explore Page, enhancing their visibility.

Yes, you can upgrade your membership during the annual renewal period through your membership portal, unlocking even more benefits and opportunities to connect with the Downtown Lafayette community. If you need any assistance, our Downtown staff is here to help.

Once you become an active member, you'll receive an invitation to complete a business or individual listing for the Downtown Lafayette website. After you submit your listing, a team member will review and approve it within 2–3 business days, making it visible on the Downtown Lafayette site.

Yes, you can update your listing by resubmitting the Member Directory Form and checking "update existing listing" within the form. Once submitted, our team will review and approve the revised draft version, replacing the old listing with the updated one.

A benefit to being a DL Member is listing a Downtown event that you are hosting on our website’s Events Page. You can create an Event listing by filling out this form. In order to be listed, your event must take place within the Downtown cultural district boundaries. To see what the cultural district boundaries are, please view the map below.

Yes, a portion of your membership fee may be tax-deductible, depending on the benefits you receive and applicable tax regulations. We recommend consulting with a tax professional for specific guidance on deducting your membership contribution.

Our annual membership offers flexibility to suit each member’s preferences. You can choose to renew manually at the end of each year or set up auto-renewal for uninterrupted access to all the benefits. Membership benefits are as currently outlined in our email marketing and membership portal. Benefits may be updated from time to time at Downtown Lafayette’s discretion.

Priority access to select member-only events is available; however, access is not guaranteed and may be limited for high-demand events.

3. Account Suspension or Cancellation  

Memberships may be suspended or canceled without notice in cases of unauthorized resale, unauthorized credit card usage, or other activity violating membership policies.
