The Downtown Ambassador Program is a hands‑on initiative dedicated to keeping Downtown Lafayette clean, beautiful, and welcoming for everyone. Operated by Block by Block and funded by the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the Downtown Economic Development District (DEDD), our ambassadors work daily to enhance public spaces, support maintenance needs, and create a more vibrant urban core.

From planting and weeding to watering and ongoing care, our ambassadors keep Downtown’s green spaces looking their best. In 2025, new landscaping will be added along Jefferson Street and will be maintained by the program—creating giant cost savings for the district while enhancing curb appeal for years to come.
Our team regularly pressure washes sidewalks, plazas, and public areas—not only for a cleaner appearance but also for a fresher, more pleasant downtown environment.

Our crew submits and tracks 311 reports directly to the appropriate LCG departments. With full‑time staff and dedicated supervision, issues are addressed faster, and progress is monitored until resolved.
Downtown is divided into service zones for both daily and weekly coverage. This ensures that every corner of the district—from main thoroughfares to hidden walkways—gets the attention it deserves.
Using industry‑leading technology and apps, ambassadors log every task, creating detailed reports that help guide maintenance priorities and measure impact.
The Result: A cleaner, safer, more inviting Downtown Lafayette—made possible through strategic funding and hands‑on care.
