Support for Local Businesses and Artists
COVID-19 is already hurting local businesses and artists. Here’s how you can support others while practicing social distancing.
Businesses Open in Downtown
Due to mandatory restrictions on business operations in Louisiana, all bars in Lafayette are closed. Restaurants are restricted to take-out and delivery orders only. As a result of these restrictions, a number of Downtown businesses have closed until further notice. Here is a list of open businesses in Downtown along with changes to their hours, any specials or sales they are running, and ways you can support them from home.
Retail Shops
During this time of adjustments in social events, work schedules, and travel, we encourage you to remember the small businesses in our Downtown Lafayette community and to continue supporting retailers like these even if you cannot visit them physically. Shopping online, purchasing gift cards, and leaving positive reviews are all ways to show your support.

DTA! House Sessions
The DTA! House Sessions are a series of virtual Friday night concerts formed in response to COVID-19 to give the community a way to come together and enjoy the talent of Acadiana’s local musicians from the safety of our homes. The DTA! House Sessions were also created as a way for local musicians to reach a wider audience through live stream concerts and hopefully raise a little money in the process.
Right now, musicians in Acadiana are suffering from lost income due to canceled gigs. Many local artists earn a large portion of their income from playing live shows, something they cannot do at this time. So each week we will encouraging you to show your support for our local musicians by tipping the performer or purchasing their music while you watch.
How to tune-in
Make sure you follow the Downtown Alive! Facebook page. The live videos will be broadcast from the Facebook page every Friday at 7:00 PM. You can also watch on TV via AOC Channel 1 (Cox 15 or LUS 3) in the Acadiana area.
