Summer Camp Never Sounded So Cool
Escape
from the heat this summer with the Acadiana Center for the Arts' Summer Camps for
Kids! With all-day sessions for graphic design, music, fashion design, drawing
and painting, AcA's summer camps are a cool way for kids and teens to pass
those hot summer days.
You won't find cotton balls and popsicle sticks at CitySmarts Arts & Science
Camp, but you will learn about the this year's theme of sound. All
activities are designed to help campers develop an awareness and understanding
of the many kinds of sound and sources of sound that surround us. Activities
will be approached through the eyes and ears of scientists and artists,
blending their experiences into a creative and challenging adventure.
Teens can get in on the fun too with AcA's Summer Arts Intensives for ages
15–17, designed to give students an in-depth study in many areas of the arts.
Participants gain insight about the skills necessary to work in a particular
field of the arts. Camps include documentary filmmaking, architecture, graphic
design and fashion design.
And don't forget our Arts Studios including The Music In You camp June
12–14 for ages 6–9 and July 31–Aug 2 for ages 10–14. There is a musician in
everyone ready to be discovered, learn how to express your ideas and emotions
through music and create your own songs. We will be recording our music and
designing artwork for CD covers and T-shirts…with a final performance to top it
all off!
Beat
the heat and have a cool summer at the AcA!
